Congratulations !!

I want to dedicate this post to a very dear friend of mine from a place far away right now but to whom will be on our shores very soon.

This person to whom I have decided to protect there identity until they allow permission to use there name and details has climbed the biggest mountain ever over the last few years but in particular 2016 which has seen my friend battle every obstacle ever and overcome tragedy and adversity on a grand scale, only to keep picking themselves up on each and every occasion and carry on through to the finish line.

My friend had a dream of becoming a Doctor from a very early age and whilst it has yet to be confirmed, that day came today and the reward for such dedication is something I'm truly proud to share with everyone I know. My friend spent some 6 months in reviser school after studying for 4 years and over the last 6 months has had exam after exam and despite holding a job and long distance travel to and from to work & school, somehow found the strength to keep going and see it through. Amongst many prestigious positions of responsibility held along the way, the one memorable one to myself which I was so proud of was the President of the student Union.

When I reflect back over the last year especially, I remember so many down moments and so few up ones but it's not the struggle that I remember today but the moment of joy which came today and the reward for all that dedication will be success on a grad scale.

I want to show my gratitude to my friend for all the pain and suffering and dedicate a song for them to hopefully enjoy and see the meaning and intent of such a powerful tune:

  

My second dedication is in memory for my friends family whom I know was there in a spiritual way to watch over the whole process and send a message of hope from where they are today.

An Autumn Drive To The Office

My Daily Diary By Peter Hulbert:


My day was not going to be anything special when I first woke up but as soon as I looked out of the window it was all about to change. The sight of a big orange ball in the sky was enough to suggest some fresh air was on the cards and a brisk walk in the cool breez and autumunal weather with all those wonderful smells of rotting leaves and fungus was all I needed to get wrapped up and set off out of the door.

My normal rout "all beit a short one" is to head to the top of the hill and then drop down to the edge of the park, following the edge of the brook or stream untill I reach the lake where to my surprise on such a cold day, there was a lady throwing a stick into the lake for her dog (golden retreiver) who would bravely leap into the water for a swim and fetch the stick. I can confirm his bravery was well founded because the water must have been very cold today.

On my way through the park, I encountered a few dog walkers as normal, many wild birds on the search for berries and other foods but most of all the wonders of peace and quiet which is the one thing that certainly clears your mind first thing in a morning.

The day itself was a naturally bright and sunny day with huge white fluffy clouds but as the sun is now low over the horizon, it is much colder and the temprature always reminds me that summer was a long time ago and the steam coming out of my nose shows just how cold the day was but the freshness of the air is a pure delight and is something you can't ever put a  price on.

I often take a walk allong the edge of the brook and listen to my music in my headphones privately as it would be unfair to others to break the silence for them if it is only I who is in the mood for music and today my chosen songs was as follows:

It has lasting memories for me and reminds me of my days in Nevada and living the freedom of choice life. My memories of driving up to Lake Taho and the wonderful skiing resort was some of my more memorable moments with Bill, Luci and my dear friends. I still say today that I wished I had stayed in the USA and brought my daughter to live with me instead of me returning to the UK to live near her.

The rest of my day was taken up by a drive over the top to Holmfirth and the office where we started out on a typical Monday morning with the moving of things that were taken up by orderes etc and the making of room for new products and goods. The best part of that section of my day was that wonderful drive over the hills where the views are something of a spectacle to see. I often stop and capture the moment by taking a breath of the fresh air and even the occasional photograph of the wonderful view.

The Long & Lonely Weekend.

It's been the best and the worst this weekend,

For the best part I was alone and for the worst part, I was alone with just my compardrey, Mr Van Morrison and his new album "Let It Ryme" and whilst being alone is not a pleasant feeling, being alone with Van Morrison is not a bad place to be. It was a hell of a weekend, just Peter Hulbert & Van Morrison accompanied with his band. At this stage I would notmally put some tracks on from youtube but you know what, you can go and find them yourself because I bought the album and if you appreciate music, then you will appreciate and value the time searching for the album.

I have a busy week ahead with visitors coming in from all over the area, thankfully not all on the same day and same locations but never the less, it will keep me thinking ahead and positive through the week and now that I have the new Van Morrison album, it's a pleasure to take to the car and enjoy the moment in the mood to sing alone and enjoy the change in scenery. For those who wonder where Im going, keep wondering as it's none of your business.

I enjoyed the weekend of activity in Malaysia and who is going to win I hear you ask.......and who gives a damn I hear you say. Well, I care and my money is on a German whose parents are from Finland..!!

The Paris Motor Show got off to a good start I hear and many new products on offer with much emphasis on the enviroment and comfort which are important points in 2016, Land Rover offer the "All New Land Rover Discovery" and MG announce they are shifting production to China, perhaps there is some logic but who knows..

The funny thing about being alone is it removes all of the BS from my head and allows my thoughts to flow and provides an access to my memories which refelcts much of whats going on in my life today. I have many good friends who are truly the best of the best and some people who tell me they are the best and want me to agree but sadly there is a reason they want me to agree, it's because they know that they are the two faces back stabbber from Hell and they realise that I know it.

As I write these few short lines I am starting to release some of the tension beating inside my head and as I have my headphones on to the sound of my music and latest purchase from Mr Morrison I have decided to relent a little and let you enjoy some of the 3 hours of pure quality from the master of balad music and movie song tracks and wish you all as much enjoyment from this album as I got.

Tonight was spent creeping about in the woods trying to capture some pictures of the moon in such a clear blue sky before the night came in. It might appear a bit weird but if you want to capture the moon in all it's glory, you need to find a suitable place preferably high up on a hill or similar and if at all possible, away from any street lighting etc.

 As you go through these few pictures, you will see the changes and colouration created by the night sky as the moon moves across the night sky.

 I have to confess to a little filter on this picture to enhance the skyline but in truth, the end result was probably not worth it. Below is a close up of the moon by using a zoom lens but it is difficult to control especially as the wind was blowing on the top of the hill I was possitioned upon.

I have to be grateful for the clear skies this week with a hint of blue while the moon appears slowly from over the horizon. You need a tripod if you are going to take good images of anything in the sky as your body wish detect any shaking or movement and distort the final image.

Having a Style Council Day

5th May 2016

Today (Thursday) was a very warm and pleasant day in God's own country and as such I took the time to drive out over to Derbyshire and enjoy some time at Monsal Dale and of course I was tempted to have a beer at the pub. I took a few snaps to show the view down the valley to the river and foot bridge to which is such a pleasant view from the top of the hill and ridge. I hope you enjoy the changes of the light as the sun passed over.

Having a Paul Weller Night

30th April 2016

It's been about as weird a day as one can expect today, we were told yesterday how the weather was going to start and warm up today for a slightly better weekend but hey ho, it snowed, hailed, it rained and for a brief moment, the sun poked it's head out as if to mock us all from behind a cloud.

My local football team Sheffield Wednesday made a good day today by beating Cardiff to a 3-0 win, it feels especialy good as I have a major distaste for the City of Cardiff.

It's 7.15pm and I have juust ordered a take away meal in which to enjoy with a beer while Ant & Dec comes on at 8.00. Its been quite a day for Motor Sport today as the Russian GP was having it's qualifying session and for those who have to watch it on the highlights session later, I would say what the result is.

It's the long weekend for us in the UK as we have a bank holiday on Monday, we celebrate May day for some reason although I have no idea why, there is probably some super reason for the banks closing on Monday but for now the reason escapes me.

Anyway, my beer is getting warm and my music is on loud and Im enjoying a bit of style council while I wait for my ruby murry to arrive. TTFN and see you later.
