Another Day In Autumn of 2016

18th October 2016

Another day another dollar is the expression but today there was no dollar. However, despite the moans and groans about the cold weather and the freezing wind, I was to speak with a friend of mine in another part of the world and all the pieces of the jigsaw started to fit into place but appear to be insignificance when I hear what is going on their. After almost a month a 24 hour a day rain, they have been left devistated by suffering a major problem to the water system leaving the whole area without any fresh water for 2 days and maybe longer as there is no confirmed date for the system to be working. This leaves people with no ability to drink, wash, use the bathroom etc, all in a country that has been devistated by a huge storm and constant rain.... "My heart goes out to you all"

I was in for a bit of a shock today after hearing the knock at the door and the post man bringing me something I had ordered some 3 months ago and had totally forgotten about. I had made a purchase of a "Bluetooth Speaker" to which I had forgotton about but suffice to say arrived and gave me something to play with. It took me a while to work out the instructions as despite the fact that they were written in so called English, as many of you will be well aware, the Chinese often do a great job of making a prooduct but a poor job of telling us how it works, thus I spent a long time working out which part of England the instructions were meant for. However, some time later in the day, I did manage to connect the speaker and play some music and to my surprise, the sound quality was very good indeed.

My second part of the day to which I wish to pay attention to and draw your attention to was the drive to Coventry & Burton on Trent. It's quite sad to say that most people think of Coventry as being devastated by German bombs in the second world war when in reality it is a City of excellence for engineering and I had the pleasure of visiting the "Sir Frank Whittle" buildings in the City to which was a great honour, shortly afterwards I was to be on the inside of a great brewery on the banks of the river Trent. It was such a shame to leave as I was hoping to be locked in with the key thrown away.

The journey back to Holmfirth was a pleasant one untill I heard on the radio news that there is a destinct possibility of snow arriving by the weekend which could cause some issues but more importantly means it's cold in bed tonight and no one to share the pillow with. Never mind, I keep the possitivity going forward and the focus on the target and armed with my vision and my music, I just know the end of the tunnel is in sight. Todays music was as follows:

An Autumn Drive To The Office

17th October 2016

My Daily Diary By Peter Hulbert:

My day was not going to be anything special when I first woke up but as soon as I looked out of the window it was all about to change. The sight of a big orange ball in the sky was enough to suggest some fresh air was on the cards and a brisk walk in the cool breez and autumunal weather with all those wonderful smells of rotting leaves and fungus was all I needed to get wrapped up and set off out of the door.

My normal rout "all beit a short one" is to head to the top of the hill and then drop down to the edge of the park, following the edge of the brook or stream untill I reach the lake where to my surprise on such a cold day, there was a lady throwing a stick into the lake for her dog (golden retreiver) who would bravely leap into the water for a swim and fetch the stick. I can confirm his bravery was well founded because the water must have been very cold today.

On my way through the park, I encountered a few dog walkers as normal, many wild birds on the search for berries and other foods but most of all the wonders of peace and quiet which is the one thing that certainly clears your mind first thing in a morning.

The day itself was a naturally bright and sunny day with huge white fluffy clouds but as the sun is now low over the horizon, it is much colder and the temprature always reminds me that summer was a long time ago and the steam coming out of my nose shows just how cold the day was but the freshness of the air is a pure delight and is something you can't ever put a  price on.

I often take a walk allong the edge of the brook and listen to my music in my headphones privately as it would be unfair to others to break the silence for them if it is only I who is in the mood for music and today my chosen songs was as follows:

It has lasting memories for me and reminds me of my days in Nevada and living the freedom of choice life. My memories of driving up to Lake Taho and the wonderful skiing resort was some of my more memorable moments with Bill, Luci and my dear friends. I still say today that I wished I had stayed in the USA and brought my daughter to live with me instead of me returning to the UK to live near her.

The rest of my day was taken up by a drive over the top to Holmfirth and the office where we started out on a typical Monday morning with the moving of things that were taken up by orderes etc and the making of room for new products and goods. The best part of that section of my day was that wonderful drive over the hills where the views are something of a spectacle to see. I often stop and capture the moment by taking a breath of the fresh air and even the occasional photograph of the wonderful view.

My Autumn Thoughts By Peter Hulbert

16th October 2016

Its one of those Sundays when you are caught up in your own thoughts and without anyone to share them with. I woke up to a raining and misserable day with little if no prospect of going anywhere but as the wind and rain kept coming, a break in the skies showed promise of perhaps better things to come but by now I had already decided that as I was alone and as always let down by those who should know better, it was too late in the day to consider doing anything except looking out of the window with barely my thoughts to conatin me.

I found solice in my music as always and my normal act of expression is to write while I listen and as I treated myself to Van Morrison and his new album "Keep me singing" I found some memories of life and lost times and decided life was not all bad.

My week ahead is looking quite optimistic as I have some things to be getting on with and many friends to keep my chin from hitting the bottom of the sea bed. I may even get out this week armed with my camera as the colours at this time of year are a truly a spectacle as the onslaught of autumn draws in and brings us closer to winter, the time just flies bye but for some reason life itself just goes so slowly, hardly ever noticing the grey hairs appear and the wrinkles creeping through but Im blessed by good health and a wonderful family and as such it's not all bad. The one thing I have learned by being Peter Hulbert is that Peter Hulbert is no quitter and when his back is to the wall, he is a dangerous person to corner.

The new car is quite a surprise and every day opens my mind to the wonderful world in all it's glory. My past is gone and my future is ahead and all that we can do is learn from the past and develop our future as we go forward and if we learn anything from the past it should be to improve and be a better person that we were yesterday.

God Bless You All.
