Alive & Kicking In 2019

15th January 2019

Welcome back after the Christmas silence and the festivities which included the "New Year" and all that went with it and lest say Goodbye to 2018 and Hello to 2019 and a bright and positive future for all.........I say all, but I mean all except 4 in my world and those 4 will be dealt with shortly and swiftly along the pathway of 2019.

So my subject today is in regards to BREXIT and as I write this post, I hear that the Government just lost the vote from the MP'S by 230 votes and that is a huge loss to Theresa May and her lies......er, Deal..!! Europe just confirmed they refuse to re-open the negotiation program and in theory, we have a "No Deal" situation which is what the nation voted for. However, I truly expect Theresa May to follow her normal pathway of lies and stop BREXIT and whilst I have no crystal ball, I expect her delay or halt to BREXIT to lead to huge trouble in the UK although I hope and pray that any protests are peaceful. For now, I am celebrating the result as I did back in 2016 when the people voted to leave the EU but sadly we are still here and still wasting both time and money on nonsense instead of leading the nation forward to a positive future under our own management and control of our own destiny. So what next I ask myself, how disrespectful can parliament be to keep denying the will of the people when we have spent masses of money on a dream for Theresa May's Ego.

So, for the UK and it's strange weather, we are still about 7-8% above what we should expect at this time of year but change is around the corner and snow may not be far away and in Europe, the snow has been severe and cost lives which is so tragic. The USA is about to get a heavy snow storm and we are informed that it could arrive at our door step at any time and whilst I always enjoy the time when snow is here, I am always aware of the dangers that it brings with it and caution is the order of the day, especially on the roads and footpath.

27th January 2019

So the fighting and biting has started for the BREXIT supporters as team "Remain" who deny the democratic right of the people to be acknowledged and respected. Instead, they want a re-run of the election process as a second one (if they win) would be a final result but they fail to say what they would do if they lost. One assumes they would ask for the best of five, or even just stop democracy and bring in the "North Korean" style of elections.

The one this that we can all say for sure about the whole process of BREXIT is that our own as well as overseas politicians have shown just how deceitful and corrupt they all are and with little signs showing that any have morals past their own selfish ego's. I have always said that my version of democracy is not about who wins but who accepts the result at the end, no matter what the outcome and to watch the Labour Party who's leader has voted against every EU recommendation for over 40 years and fight hard to leave, now supporting a remain side is staggering but on the other foot you have Theresa May who voted to remain and surrounded herself with a remain cabinet to claim she will lead the leave the EU government, makes the whole thing madness. I am 101% convinced that I have landed on planet loony and am surrounded by people smoking drugs. The third part (Liberals) simply want to open our doors, feed the world and embrace the EU by flying a white flag over Buckingham Palace and to that end, I will never work out who the allies are and who the real enemy is. UKIP have slipped back so far that they can't even be seen through a strong telescope, despite them being the party of leave and have now opened the door to a person (Tommy Robinson) whom I support but not as a political figure as he is on his own mission and my honest view is whilst I agree with his comments, he will divide UKIP into a "Far Right" and Racist Party and to that end I cannot support such a thing.

30th January 2019

I don't have a great deal to say today regarding BREXIT or anything else in reality as the Vote in the House of Commons was won but only just won by the Government and the attempt to stop BREXIT was not complete and as the Commons vote kind of put a stop to it, the relief was all their for all to see. The main focus for me was so many of our Political Class's have shown their total disregard to the will of the people who actually pay both their wages and their expenses. However, Im in a positive mood today and being on the bounce back all helps and as such I want to leave the last word on BREXIT and Theresa May to this young lady who sums it all up so well on video.

The Silence Is So Loud

29th November 2018

Here we all are at the end of November and the end of the year creeps ever closer to the point that it's maybe a good time to look back and reflect on what was or what could have been or even what is going to be if we are more positive minded.

I try hard to avoid Politics on my blogs but I feel that this time, even myself am allowed a say over what is happening within the mainframe of the UK political arena to which I cannot fail to notice that Democracy has been forgone and instead been replaced by propaganda of the worst kind. The situation over BREXIT has totally turned around and the will of the people has been totally ignored in favor of a no leave policy by our Prime Minister and instead she tells us that we are leaving but remaining indefinitely until a later moment in time and we must pay a £39 Billion divorce settlement on the way out of the door along with having no political vote or say within the EU........!!. Yup, thats what I said and it is 100% true but we are all waiting to see how many MP'S have listened to their constituents and who is just brown nosing to climb the ladder to Cabinet at the cost of Democracy and the slavery of the people. I for one am very angry at this situation and not only hope that Mr's May not only looses the vote but looses it with such a huge margin that she suffers her career loss and is forced to resign and be replaced by at least an honest MP. I have no issue with her selling her story but to refuse or deny the people after they voted is pure dictatorship and unforgivable in the world of Peter Hulbert and his followers.

The problem with some people is that they may well provide a nice smile and an attractive proposal but underneath is something ready to bite you that will hurt more than your pride and out Prime Minister Theresa May has fooled the many and also the majority but not the Brexit supporter as we saw through it and for those who try and tell me she is a woman of high morals, I suggest you view the link above by clicking her name and reading the truth about her deep down values as you may be surprised as to what hides beneath the smile of a woman who enjoys a smug dance and smirk at the people to whom she has in the past refused to communicate with on occasions of national disaster such as the people of London have suffered over the last few months. The only reason she is willing to come out fighting now is for her own future but never fought over the UK future in any way. Go check out this woman that the media like to say is the daughter of a vicar and woman of God. You may be shocked and at the very least surprised in what you find. Always remember the rule that is "All that glisten is not always gold". Or in the words of Peter Hulbert, beware of the nice cloths and cute smile as underneath is a snake with very poisonous venom and it is still very hungry and extremely angry. You were warned is all I have to say on this matter and for me, the fight goes on.

23rd December 2018

Here we are just 48 hours from the Big Man dropping down the chimney and delighting us by stealing the mince pie we left out, and only giving the one carrot left out for Rudolf that was designed to be chopped up and shared for all of the hard working transport team but who am I to complain. We spend out lives warning our children about strangers and then allow one in who is wearing a fake beard and strange cloths to cover up his real look and make sure he is not recognised on CCTV. As if that is not bad enough, we also build a snow man outside which in truth is a naked man wearing nothing but a scarf and smoking a pipe........!!

So, when it comes to hypocrisy we the human race are as bad as it gets in so many ways. I often see and hear about other countries and it never ceases to amaze me just how arrogant we are in the west and how we just judge Christmas on money and pretentious crap. For myself (Peter Hulbert) I prefer the more honest and simple Christmas where is focused on people and being kind and not about who got the latest Play Station or Best Gold Watch. There are people around the world who have nothing and I would happily give all my presents to someone in need than someone in want. My question to you all is but a simple one. What are you doing for Christmas and will it be focused on you or others. Sadly, most people will answer this question with a moral lie but I understand why but why do we not offer a little kindness to others over what is a period of so called "Good Will To Others" where does the good will start and end. How many will offer a McDonalds to someone homeless of penniless or simply give an old out of fashion coat or pair of shoes that has never been worn but not this years fashion to someone in genuine need. Not many I suspect. Ok, so the rant is over and I hope I have pricked your conscience in some little way and made you aware that there is real poverty in the world and the madness and selfishness that the west seems to embrace through it's plastic throw away system and yet people are sleeping in the street who only wish for a warm corner that is dry and safe. Lets hope that 2019 is a more caring world with less self motivation and more sharing.

28th December 2018

Here we are, back on the blog and updating what I did or didn't do over the last few days over the festive period and to be honest, it's been a bit of a revelation in doing nothing more that thinking and eating which is pretty much what I set out to do, so in many ways it's been a success in the world of Peter Hulbert by at least completing what I set out to do, albeit nothing......!!

I, like many others are looking forward to 2019 with a tainted breath of fresh air and for no real reason except that 2018 has gone and 2019 is arriving and whilst I do not make many predictions, I will say that it's looking like an exciting year ahead for a whole array of different reasons and all have been carefully thought out and planned in advance. The good will get better and the bad will get worse is the best I can offer right now but watch out for the fireworks as we move along the pathway of positivity and head forward to success at a sufficient rate of knots to set the sky on fire.
So Christmas has been and gone and all I have to show for it all is a pile of wrapping paper and lots of stuff for the re-cycling centre that quite frankly makes it all seem a joke in the end but sadly it is the world that we live in and is generally known as the throw away age where people have little if any respect for anything except there own ego.

My question to you all is but a simple one and reminds me of the words I said on my honeymoon which was "How was it for you" and was it as expected or a bit of a let down. For me it is more of a drag than an excitement as it never seems to end and as I generally dislike the falseness of it all, I would prefer to spend the time in a more valued way by achieving something at the end of it all instead of simply falling asleep through sheer boredom through over indulging of all the things that we like and the experts tell us are so bad for us. I was amused by the sighting of Skeleton Santa last week which summarised it very well for me by suggesting it was a long time coming and so let down by the end result and the fact that this Santa died whilst waiting suggests he has the same attitude to the whole escapade too.

For the crazy ones amongst you all, can I suggest a great prank to which you can play at the re-cycling centre with your cast off Christmas tree that has no purpose anymore for the rest of the year and in many instances has fulfilled it's requirements but may have one last purpose of which could give you such a buzz if you follow the instructions below and view the image to the right of how to bundle up the tree and take it to the centre for re-cycling. If your local centre is like mine, it will be occupied by rude and obnoxious people who are abrupt and ignorant and always have a health and safety reason why they cannot help you with heavy objects, this one was designed just for them. Simply wrap the tree as shown and carry it in a way that suggests it's truly heavy and make little eye contact with the staff at the centre but keep looking around as if to suggest you are doing something very wrong and don't want to be seen. My feeling is you will attract attention like a dog's arse does to a fly and only you will ever know it is a 100% joke or prank on the recycle centre staff and for the whole world to see, you have done nothing wrong but will be treated like a mass murderer on the run from the FBI. Good luck with it and I hope it goes well. It should leave a smile on your face that will last all through the new year.

31st December 2018

The countdown is now official and we are fast approaching the new year and 2019. I just received a call from my friends in New Zealand

followed shortly after from my Guru & long time friends in Australia and we celebrated the new year together and in just a few hours time I will be celebrating again with someone else from the southern hemisphere while they bring in the new year also, so it's quite a busy and exciting time today.

It's really an exciting time for all. I just heard from Rosie who is celebrating the traditional way as only the Scots can do but in her case with a twist, she lives in Australia and but a few doors from Alick which is a reminder how small the world really is.

It's a happy and exciting time for so many today and lets all share in the hope that 2019 is a peaceful and prosperous time for all and that we all learn the lessons laid out to us of the past. Forgiveness is a great lesson to learn and never to hurt or harm others is another. Accept that we all share this planet and that despite our differences, we all need to exist and the kindest way to do this is by sharing, so all I wish to do now is to offer you all my very best wishes and a "Happy New Year" for 2019 from myself "Peter Hulbert" and hope that you keep on supporting my blogs in the new year and sharing out thoughts together as we soldier on through adversity and whatever the world throws at us.

The Beauty Of Silence.

19th September 2018

The last few days have been so exciting as the season has finally turned to flow blown autumn and the colours and scenery is second to none in the world of Peter Hulbert as colour is everything in the lens of a camera and the eyes of the admirer and as autumn brings colour in abundance, the opportunity to capiltalise is something that was unthinkable.

Here is a very typical scene right now in the UK where the tree lined road has covered the street with a canopy of beach trees and as such, created a natural arch in which gives the appearance of a road to nowhere  which is how I normally describe it. In truth, the ability to capture this at such a quiet moment is nothing short of a miracle as it is usually a very busy road but for the early bird, it is easy enough if you are prepared to crawl out of bed and get ahead of the game on a Sunday morning. I will re-visit here in a few weeks when the colours of the trees will have changed to a golden brown and orange which changes the whole look of the road and is a true spectacle to see.

To the right is a view from the wonderful Cannon Hall of which is just 20 minuets for me to travel but provides a whole spender of beauty to which it's grounds have an abundance of both trees and flowers but my focus is on the trees as they provide the most variety of both natural colour and changes of both shape and size and I find this particularly of interest as it provides such diversity. The grounds at Cannon Hall are a very relaxing place to see and the Hall it'self is used as a museum to show of an extensive range of Edwardian military as well as architectural features.
The advantage of visiting such a place as Cannon Hall or similar, is that you can condense much of the work of finding good images into a smaller location and any of the Ex-stately or Royal Households are usually good hunting grounds for photographers with an eye for something different. I have to confess at this point to reverting to being a 9 year old child for a while as I stumbled upon a conker tree which brought me back to my childhood and sent me foraging like a squirrel looking for nuts, only in this case I was not seeking food but the beautiful chestnut colours of the conker tree and as many kids in the UK will confirm, there is no fun like being a conker champion which sadly today has been slightly swept under the carpet for the latest play station or nintendo but getting out and back to nature is so much more healthier than video games and much more exciting. To the right, is a conker to which has left it's shell and is waiting to sprout routs and bury into the ground in which to start a whole new era of trees for the next generation to appreciate and enjoy. I always feel slightly dissapointed that the children of today have no understanding of these things and just how interesting and how much fun it can be searching for things like conkers. In my youth and at this time or year, we used to search out and collect hazelnuts, blackberries, raspberries, wild apples, elderberries and if we were really lucky and patient, bilberries but they were hard work as you got covered in flies in the process of picking them.
The last few days of my life have been so stressful and filed with both fear and anticipation as my partner who is a Doctor was across at the other side of the world in the south seas and working in Manila when the Super Typhoon hit and whilst we had a few days notification of it's path, they took the advice given and headed north on the Island of Manila and this turned out to be a big mistake as the Typhoon also turned north on a direct path to where they were with the eye of the storm passing directly overhead before heading out over the south china sea for it's next stop of Hang Kong. It was like a living hell waiting for news but to which in the end turned out to be good news and the relief was amazing and as such, I took some time out to have some moment of thought with my camera and I am now sharing that moment with you all in my blog. I never want to experience a moment like that again, the worry and fear is something just too much to comprehend and my thoughts go out to those who lost their lives and their families who are left behind in the storm to try and rebuild and start over after such a tragedy struck the whole community with such devastation and life threatening impact to which you have no power to control such events.

21st September 2018

Wow, when the weather office said a hurricane was on the way with rain, I never expected 3 feet deep waters and cars stuck with people seeking to be rescued but the excitement was amazing if you were safe but not much fun if your car was floating down the street. I have to say that the rain was needed but I never expected so much in such a short period of time. Apparently we got a whole months rain in 12 hours but looking on the positive side, I can at least take a bath without feeling guilty. So, on the latest news front of which this blog is based upon was something quite dear to my heart as I was driving along the country roads on a return journey from Cannon Hall, I found laying at the side of the road a dead badger to which was a stark reminder to myself and I wish to extend this message to others, that slowing down has many advantages, not least of which is one that can help to save lives. Animals have little road sense if any at all but as humans, we are supposed to be intelligent and see the dangers before they come and as such, slowing down allows a little more time to allow for anything unexpected and our brains to kick in and react accordingly.

Whilst I was wondering around the gardens of Cannon Hall, I discovered a section where they grow there own vegetables and I was amazed at the quality and quantity that they produce. I found marrow, squash, beans and a variety of cabbage but as I turned the corner, I noticed some bright orange footballs to which turned out to be pumpkin and it then made me realise that Halloween is just around the corner and a special time for the kids to dress up and enjoy some fun. One thing that did impress me was a tree full of apples to which the gardener was kind enough to tell me I could collect some if I wished. He told me they were unusual as they were red apples which in itself is not unusual but red all the way through which I discovered was truly unusual and they were very sweet to eat. I have never seen an apple that has red flesh as well as outer skin. They were very nice and being a Yorkshire man, they taste even nicer when they are free.

26th September 2018

We have well and truly passed the half way point of September and whilst the nights are certainly drawing in and much colder, the days are still mostly sunny and that's a bonus for what we call an Indian summer, which in short means and extended summer period. I have to confess at this point to being a fan of September as generally the heat has dropped off and the days are normally still quite warm and provides us with little to complain about, but we are British and complaining about the weather is what we do best.

We are fast heading toward the 11.00 am on the 11th Day of the 11th month in which the UK and many of it's crown dependencies, overseas dependencies and commonwealth colleagues stop what they are doing and stand in silence for 1 minuets silence in which to show respect toward those who lost their lives in wars and laid down their lives to provide myself and others with the freedoms that we now have in our lives and we symbolise this with the wearing of a poppy. Below is a typical tribute to that moment as shown across the vast majority of the civilised world. My Grandfather served in the First World War and survived and to that end I am very proud of the medal to which he left me with his name engraved. His name was "Harry Love" from Belfast Northern Ireland & United Kingdom and I (Peter Hulbert) treasure that medal to this very day. I see no winner in war, I only ever see loss to both or all sides and my version of war is that all wars start out as an economic war that get's beyond the negotiation stage and as such, those who created the war tell the innocent to fight and lay down their lives for the ones who are ultimately protected from the line of fire by those who had nothing to do with the creation of such madness but whom are now being told to join in the fight. Crazy does not begin to describe what I think about the whole thing but God forbid I hope it never happens again. I have lived through several, including the Suez Crisis, Falkland Islands & Gulf War and I have never had reason to either agree or disagree with any of them. Let's end this update with a picture of something a little more up-lifting and taken today with my phone that shows an old "Victorian Band Stand" which was a typical scene about 200 years ago where the people of the local town or village used to come out to watch the Church band play for the public to enjoy, often the stand was placed in a park as was this one.
This particular band stand is placed on the edge of the wonderful park at Elsecar near Barnsley and is a truly lovely park with it's views across a lake and surrounded on two sides by a mini golf park. There is a children's play ground and cafe in which to get a proper cup of tea after a walk around the green fields of the park. I found myself watching a Hereon trying to catch his lunch today at the lakeside and it was truly amazing.

4th October 2018

Wow, has it been a wild week or what. Have you ever had one of those weeks where you never have enough hours in the day to get everything done but with a burst of extra energy, you somehow find a way and yet despite every day being almost like "Ground Hog Day" and repeating it'self over and over, you look back and realise you achieved nothing and might just as well not bothered even starting. Yup, I hear you say..........well that was my week and looking forward to the coming week, it looks like it might just repeat itself all over again.

Im told that when life seems to just go round and round like a Ferris wheel at the local fair ground, it's not that you can't handle life or there is too much to grasp but more a case of your are letting the tail wag the dog and it's all about control. Life will always get the better of you if you allow it to but when you control your life you have the power and confidence in what you are doing and the result is a much better outcome and the stress levels drop while your satisfaction level rises and when you allow life to control you, it truly becomes very stressful and hard to pull it back but the opposite happens when you take control and by definition, you become far less stressed. To the right is an image I took a while ago at a Fair Ground and my lesson to you all is that I lost control of my life this last few days and right now I could just curl up and sleep as I am exhausted after the turmoil it created. Catch up is always hard and more energy than control. The only consolation is that I "Peter Hulbert" have learned my own lesson and don't want to repeat the lesson again.

I am not quite sure what is the fascination with my history as it was quite a normal one in many respects but periodically I am asked to provide a copy of my old school letter that confirms a very eventful day in my life when I parted company with my school without even saying goodbye for some reason. It was a case of please leave and don't return to which satisfied myself but obviously not my family. All I can ever say is I frankly didn't give a sh_t about any school report. I had already secured an apprenticeship and had no need for anything that school had to offer. What I would summerise is all as was a waste of many years listening to a bunch of crap that served no purpose what so ever in my life except to educate me in subjects and knowledge that was never checked or tested, just handed down from moron to moron that history has always managed to do. The leftie education system really based upon brainwashing minds into believing what you hear is true but without question, evidence or substance. The result being.........well, take a look below and work out for yourself what I thought about it all......!!

23rd October 2018

Here we are again, heading quickly toward the end of October and for some weird reason I hear your voices in the background saying "why a gap in the updates and silence for the last few weeks". Firstly, an apology. I had a major fault with my mobile phone of which I use on a daily basis to take snaps along my travels as a daily memory in which to refer to when I update my "Peter Hulbert" blog page and use them as a point of reference and the delay in getting any help and in the end a new phone was something I simply didn't envisage in any way and as such I was silent for the last 20 day's, some might say that was a bonus. So, here we are back on track again and updating as we go along. I was in my local supermarket the other day and as always, I often buy some bottled water to which after checking the label, I noted it said "Low Calorie" and not being an expert I started to question just how many calories one get's in a bottle of water and in my world it is zero if any at all and all I would ask is how come this says "Low calorie" when water has zero calories........!!
Is this one of those marketing tricks to make the fatties buy water or is there something more sinister lurking under the story that I am being pumped full of sugar in water to which I had no idea about and if it is the latter, I would take reference to that as it is wrong in my world. This also opens the debate for what are manufacturers & retailers putting into our food that we are totally ignorant of and we place our faith in their hands and yet we may be being misled in so many ways without any realisation of what is going on and what if anything the harm it is creating to our daily lives. It certainly opens the mind of debate for those who care.

I thought I would share this simply brilliant idea to which I stumbled upon over the last few days and one to which I feel we should all consider adopting as a small project to encourage a better environment for us all to enjoy and as I understand it, this is an insect hibernation system and a safe place for bugs and beetles to hide away in safety through the winter where they are away from the frost and snow and can live safely through to the spring time and as our country is now covered in pesticide and sprays, I thought this was a great idea and one that has registered in my head for when I finally move away from where I live. If you look carefully, you will see that it is divided into a variety of different sections all of different sizes and the idea is to encourage small invertebrates to find there way here and stay in relative safety through the hashes of winter and allow to leave in the spring to start and do what they do best. I often think it is the simple things that we can all do to encourage nature and work together to provide some kind of future for not only our children but for natures children too and without all the insects doing there work, our world would be a very miserable place to be.  At this point, I also wish to pay tribute to the people who made this possible and below and to the left, you will see a marker post to which was placed by them to mark the spot and I truly thank them for both giving up their time and energy and also for caring enough to do this kind gesture for us all to see.

Never A Day Goes By.

12th August 2018

So, here we are and just past the 1st 3rd of August and for some strange reason, this month is speeding up and I confess that I don't like it. I seem to blink and a week has gone bye and I go to bed and a month has shot past. Please can somebody stop the world as I want to get off.
So, what was on your minds over the last fed days since I wrote my last few words, I was surprised to find out that someone from my past who owes me a great deal of money passed away. "Yes", I know what you are thinking, I am supposed to say "Sadly Passed Away" but honestly, I don't give a shit as this guy was a drain to so many and even in his hour of need, he never changed his course of lazy and dirty. He brought much shame on his family, friends and all around and the best I can say is that the debts he left for so many is enough to say I have no conscience and feel nothing for this person. Wanna know who is it, "Click Here".   I would normally not say too much about this subject out of pure respect but in this instance, I know too many people who are probably having a party right now to celebrate this person meeting his end and whilst there is an official version of what took place, I for one and reluctant to believe that but favor my own version that a Doctor in Sierra Leon was paid to say he died of natural causes instead of confirming that he owed money to people in Africa who lost patience with his stories and as a result, this person lost his heart beat through a variety of reasons and perhaps even a bullet. For me, my sympathy goes out to his "Ex Wife" who suffered for years at this persons ability to never pay any upkeep for his children and his 2 children to whom he treated with total contempt for so many years. I also feel a degree of sympathy to the people who he owes money to in the many business ventures he convinced so many to invest into and failed on so many accounts. I know of at least 3 but am aware of more.

19th August 2018

So, here we are on a Sunday night in August and the only thing I can recall tight now is that it was my sisters birthday this weekend but for the life of me, I can't remember her age. All that is know is that when the Egyptians were building the Pyramids, she was a helper for the foundations. The big event that I remember over the last 7 days was not so much of a surprise as I predicted it a few months ago but the return to mainstream politics was never the less, good news and welcome back Nigel Farrage and whilst I was expecting that you would put your name forward to lead UKIP, my expectation is that will happen in the Autumn around the party conference season and after Nigel returns from both Australia & New Zealand. So, that was my quick update on the politics corner and heading toward my world and what have I been up to............."Well, Not a Lot" is the simple answer. It's been very quiet and mainly down to the fact that it is holiday season in the UK and many people are out of place and position right now. I will be out and about a little this coming week and should have one or two exciting things to share with you and on the positive things in my world, they are going rather well right now and I will update you all in due course. My day at the farm was a good one and I was welcomed as always by cattle more than people but hey ho, we take what we can get.

As with most if not all of the farms in the area, the wheat yield will be down this year due to the lack of water through the summer and as there is no expected rain for the coming weeks, this looks unlikely to change and as such it has to be expected that prices will be affected in the end result. I took this picture to show anyone who's interested exactly what wheat looks like and about 99% of this will go towards cereal for the supermarket buyers. Ultimately, most wheat ends up there although there are other uses. The summer has been excellent for holiday makers but whilst the sun is appreciated by farmers, we usually need a good mixture of both sun & rain to exploit the best from the land and this year it has been 90% sun and little rain and that spells bad news in the end. The dairy cattle have suffered too as the grass was dry with little if any goodness in the feed and as such we are already using winter feed to supplement the diet and to be honest, we need some rain quite urgently to save the year for milk production. Even the sheep look a little lost this year and whilst happy to chew there way through the day, they too have not had a good time of the weather this year, although Im sure they enjoyed the warmer nights. I have got an appointment at the Dentist this week and no doubt they will be searching for work in the vast cavity I call my mouth.

9th September 2018

We reached this point and sometimes when I look back I ask myself how and why but with nobody to explain I simply say we did and that's what matters most. I recount my days in this memory to my life in an effort to actually justify and forgive others for what they have done to myself and in many respects many others along the way and to than end I find the word forgive the hardest part. In life we all need to learn from our mistakes and mine was to trust others, for there education I survived and what I will say is your learning is about to start. I am not always known for my tolerance of others in as much as forgiveness is always the answer and to that end I also believe that to taste ones own medicine is often the best way to sample what you thought was good for the goose and I believe is also good for the gander and for those who are close to me, you know I look like an elephant and my memory is as good as an elephants and revenge is sometimes the best education to those who now forget what they did. My day's have passed and yours are about to begin and the good news for myself is that I survived, one wonders whether you will cope and adjust as well as I did.  I feel blessed that some very positive things came from my experience and ordeal and I discovered two very important things in my life. The first was who my friends were and the second is who I am and from that very discovery, I found I had good people in my life as well as bad and the bad have been removed and the good developed to even more good. I am now engaged to be married to the most wonderful person in the world to whom I have truly been searching for all of my life and at long last have found. My beautiful "CR" is forever mine and to my dying day will always treasure as the most precious person I could have ever wished to meet. I am always known as the one who will find a reason to be positive in a world full of negativity and throughout my darkest time, I stayed focused and positive and the good came in the end from what at first seemed like a long and dark tunnel of no return.

Sometimes in life we see the furthest point in our sight but often miss whats right underneath our nose and the picture to the left is a great example of life. I know that you are trying to focus on the object (Pipeline) crossing what appears to be a river but in truth it is actually and view that I captured myself of the reservoir ladybower dam at it's lowest point for years due to the lack of rainfall in 2018 and whilst it looks for all that it is a river, it is the beginning of the lake to which should span from trees to the left all the way across to the trees on the right and was made famous because it is part that it played in history and in particular world war two and formed part of the original flight path for the 617 squadron the world famous "Dam Busters" who used the dam above called Derwent because of it's similarity to it's target in Germany and was used to practice in readiness for the attack on the German industry in order to slow down the production of both steel and weapons and as they flew and practiced the bombing raid, the next thing they saw after the flight across and over the reservoir wall was this view across the second lake and down the Derwent valley. It was an amazing feat of bravery to which I salute and give thanks to these brave souls who without even a thought, risked all to provide me with the freedom I now have today.

16th September 2018

So, here we are and already past the middle of September and really feeling the changes to which autumn brings to the UK by way of both colour and nature and for me and my camera, it's truly a blessing from the Gods.
The last few days have been taken up in rather a solom time and very worrying moment to which for me was like the world had ground to a halt. My partner and for those who are not aware of this person, they are a Doctor of Medicine and also a Surgeon of Dentistry who is presently caught up in the worlds biggest Typhoon in the Philippines. They tried to dodge the main storm by traveling North which at that time showed on the outside of the storm but ironically the storm changed direction and moved north which trapped them with nowhere to go except take refuge in a safe place while the eye of the storm passed right over head. As such, my week has been filled with little more than worry and fear for others to whom as of yesterday, confirmed they are safe and well and a survivor of the worlds biggest typhoon.

Who Would Have Guessed.....!!

8th July 2018

Well here we are in what England would politely describe as an unbearable heatwave that simply appears to never end and if this is global warming, "bring it on" as there are no complaints from me. However, we are not here to chat about the weather bu really to bring you up with the life and times of "Peter Hulbert" and his madness and crazy world, that just recently has been a little quiet.........or has it ?. Hmm...!!! So, what subject should we cover today that is important enough to cause interest to so many........."Of Course"......FOOTBALL & The World Cup and more importantly, England who are through to the semi finals with a game against Croatia booked for Wednesday and who would have ever guessed that 6 months ago. Ok, I have learned from past experience that if I support England or shout it out loud, they will fail and as such, my lips remain tightly shut but what I want to say is the following but to which I will not breath a word but simply allow someone else to say on my behalf.

Good Luck To Our Beautiful England Team

18th July 2018

Ok, so here we are some 3 days after the world cup final and the sad news for all England fans was that we eventually caved in at the semi finals and lost to Croatia who deservedly won the game after extra time and with less that 10 minuets to the end of the game and for those who don't already know it, they were beaten in the final by France who were from the outset one of the favorites to win and on the day, they performed in a class above the others and deserved there moment of glory.

I would like to point out at this point that the so called union of the United Kingdom was certainly marred by the Scottish Unionist Party trying as they always do to gain public support for the hatred of the English and not support them in the world cup but instead making it public that the Scottish people should turn there backs on England and support Sweden in the tournament. At this point I will draw attention to the fact that the Scots failed to even qualify to make the world cup competition and despite the support from Scotland for the Swedes, England made us proud and we beat Sweden 2-0 in the quarter final. I would also say that when England that when England failed to make the tournament finals some years ago along with Scotland & Wales, we all threw are weight and support behind Ireland as our nearest partners and close friends but never behave as the Scottish do and reject our closest ally and friend.

England has reached it's summer time now and unlike most summers, the heat and sun has been exceptional this year, to the point where there is talk of a water shortage in some areas and whilst it has not reached the point of bath with a friend to save on the water, we have reached a point where much of the west coast has now gone into a hose pipe ban and the rest of the country is on warning to reduce waste as the reserves is getting rather low. We did once suffer this back in 1976 and as such it is quite a rarity and as always with the English, we just soak it up and get on with it. On the plus side, the garden is in full bloom and looking quite special which is something not to be snubbed at. My Daughter has now settled into her new home and is now starting driving lessons as this may serve her better in later life if planning children etc. This makes myself (Peter Hulbert) sound really old but it turns out that all of my school friends are already grandparents and I am the last to be considered for the job.
There is much anger within the UK right now due to the friction created by the Prime Minister who refuses to acknowledge "BREXIT" as the will of the people but instead keeps fighting her advisers and cabinet Ministers with daily undermining of anything they formulate in respect of trying to create what is commonly known as a deal on Brexit to which she (Theresa May) will accept, except that the will of the people was to leave the EU without any deal. We never asked for a deal, simply voted to leave and the massive cost of remaining is creating much friction by the vote leave public. The most concerning thing and the issue which causes most alarm is the fact that she refuses to acknowledge democracy and simply single mindlessly demands that her will be obeyed but I am happy to say that the Tories are already recognising her arrogance as well as the future of politics and with a fair wind, she may be gone shortly and replaced by someone who leads.

25th July 2018

So here we are in the last week of July and it's turmoil from every angle in the UK political arena and whilst I would like to think that Governments for the most part are honest, I suspect you will find it very difficult to find anyone in the UK to underline that comment today and that is quite sad. To bring you up to spec with the madness of the UK weather, back in March I was posting pictures of the extreme snow and extended winter but here we are some 4 months on from that and in the hottest summer since 1976 with a severe draught and many rivers run dry. It's difficult to accept that this is officially what they call global warming as I know from the history books that we have had lengthy periods of warming up and cooling down and during the invasion of the Roman era in the British Isles, the Romans actually grew grapes and produced wine on the borders of Scotland some 2,000 years ago and as such, it must have been very warm at that time to achieve that and I am aware that the furthest North that I am aware of where wine is produced is at Holmfirth some 10 miles north of me, but still a good 80 miles south of the Scottish border.

I can't help thinking to myself some days that we clearly live in a strange world surrounded by strange people with strange habits & attitudes but when I saw the car to the left driving through the streets of Scotland, I bowed my head to someone who must have pissed of so many people in his or her life that when that faitful day came that we will all face at some point in our life, the person or people to whom they had pissed off, decided for whatever reason not to let it end there but to carry on the madness to the funeral and who knows, even beyond the grave. It made me smile but also left that empty thought that I would love to know the story behind the action of the mourner who clearly must have bought and paid for the flowers with such hate or revenge in their meaning to annoy to the very end the person who is now evidently dead but who's memory or actions was still well and truly alive in the deepest part of someones mind and thoughts. The conclusion to which I finally accepted in my mind was that if nothing else, they were honest in there display of emotion and not as many if not most of us would have done which is to stand around talking small talk about what a wonderful and lovely person they were and how much they will be missed by so many. This person made it abundantly clear that they would not miss them and the only feeling that was left behind was a bad one to which for whatever reason, they were not prepared to call it a day and let sleeping dogs rest no matter what and to than end and by no means as a sign of approval, I at least bow to your courage and conviction and ability to stand by your true feeling and principals despite the moment.

5th August 2018

So, we finally reached the 8th Month of 2018 and August is always such a challenging month in the UK as many people are away on holiday and the children are on there 6 weeks summer break as well as our Parliament who appear to take an over extended break for reasons best known to them only. I guess somewhere along that way, the Tax Payer will be paying them for that privileged process somehow. I am a great believer in the process of Democracy but it sometimes has it's way of being manipulated for the wrong reasons and presently, out Government, or should I say leader of the Government is doing exactly that, which smacks in the face of the very people who voted them into the ivory tower to where they now preside. However, be aware of the old saying "Easy come, easy go" and I suspect the go is not too far away. I hasten to say that our great leaders were never known for anything more than high morals and standards to which respect to others who put them in their place was paramount and I feel confident in saying that they would not tolerate the goings on in the Houses of Parliament right now in there day.

Whilst I write this weeks update on my blog page, I can't help but ponder a thought for those who are away on holiday enjoying the wonderful weather in the UK and in Europe even hotter figures that are causing great concern for the medical people who are waiting for a possible world record temperature to hit Spain & Portugal on Wednesday which could see 49 or even 50% on the mainland which I am assured is truly hot. The last recorded highest reached was 47% and it looks very likely to top that this week. What I would say is if you are out in the sun be it UK or overseas, just remember how quickly it catches us and the affects of the sun are too bad to imagine and as such, take great care. Also, beware who might appear in your selfies whilst away, sometimes we capture the moment without realising who or what was in the background and for that reason, please share your moments with the rest of us like this kind lady did above. I'm sure that someone will recognise the gentleman in the background and make him famous one day for his moment of pride on the beach.

The Longest Day & Shortest Night

21st June 2018

So, we are precisely at the middle of the year depending upon which way you count it. This for the Northern Hemisphere is the longest day of the year and from here on in, each day becomes a little shorted each day. However, if you measure the months as 12, and call 6 or June the middle month and the 15th the middle day based on 30 days, my Birthday is the middle day but the 21st is the precise one in reality.
So, the World Cup finally got underway and whilst I won't say too much about it on the basis that I might be repeating what you already saw or know, I will pay a small tribute to my home grown England Team who won their first game 2-1 and are playing again on Sunday. I wish them every success and hope they bring home some glory and restore some pride back into the England right now as it is truly needed. The whole event so far has been so well presented and by all accounts has been a huge success for Russia and provided them with a platform to showcase just what a great job they can do when they are given the opportunity to do so. I personally find the Russian Grand Prix one of the best of the year also and it just shows that Russia have gone a long way and taken great steps in providing the world with some amazing events and I for one hope it continues. Russia have set the tone this year in the world cup by scoring the most amount of goals and showing the there progress to the knock out stages and next round was well deserved, I only hope that England make the next round also and with Germany & Argentina floundering a little, it provides a little hope that we may go much further in the tournament..........."I live in hope more than expectation".

So, what else has been happening around the world I hear you say.....well, President Donald Trump made the headlines with his intervention with the North Korea threat and by all accounts the end of the world date has been set back for a while due to Trump's assurance that North Korea will become a nuclear free zone in the very near future and that North Korea sanctions will continue until that undertaking has been completed but to which may be lifted later and allow North Korea to re-join the rest of the world in trading etc. Whilst we are on this subject, I do wish people would recognise what lengths Trump has gone to in order to try and secure peace in the far east and despite what you may think or say, it must be recognised that in previous Presidential terms, no progress, no attempt and no communication has taken place and as such, the problem of North Korea simply escalated and this is not good for anyone be they Western or Korean and whilst it is early days, it's fair to say that Trump has moved mountains and made history and in that respect, I salute him and thank him. I hope the good will continues and true peace and not fake emotions continue and I pray that one day, the border will be open to allow both North & South to re-unite with divided families and friends from past. I remember when German was re-united and it was such a special time and exciting for all the world to see and whilst Korea is not quite as significant, it's just as important in many ways and would be wonderful  for the country and families it directly affects.
I will end today's update with a reminder that our home grown Prince Harry got married and what a wonderful day it really was. The whole day was so special and the one thing that shone through was the reality of two people so happy in love and it truly was a romance made in heaven. We, the loyal ones in the United Kingdom are truly proud of our Royalty and the splendor it brings to our country and to see the whole world in envy of something that we have brings a lump to my throat and we sit back and enjoy the "New Royal Couple" start out on a whole new chapter of both duties and lifestyle and despite what people assume, it will be big changes for both and not just one. God Bless them both and I wish them every success and happiness ahead.

Getting Old Happens So Quickly.

14th March 2018

It's a fact of life that we all get older but just when we need more time to do what we used to do much quicker, the clock appears to speed up and the finish line becomes much clearer and not so far away. It seems like just yesterday that I was hanging the tinsel on the Christmas tree and already the special day in every Irishman's life is upon us and St Patrick is jigging up and down all around me and for some weird reason, everyone is saying "Too sure, too sure & Top of the morning to you too".

It's always been quite a mystery why so many people in England celebrate St Patrick's day when we just brush over St Georges day without even a mention for some reason but perhaps it's because we have had such a lengthy period of usually a combination of both bad weather and dark miserable days and the excuse and I do mean any excuse to let off some steam and enjoy a party is probably the reason we enjoy becoming Irish if only for a few short hours. I myself like the rest of the people who become like sheep have already prepared myself for the big day by arranging the purchase of a very large Guinness hat, green "Celtic" T shirt and green shoes for the one day this year where I might turn out and look like a very overweight and stupid looking leprechaun called "Peter Hulbert" and for no reason that makes any sense, have planned ahead and decided that against all that is expected, I may actually be tempted to have a drink of something that can only be made in Dublin to quality to be Irish. So why.....I ask myself do I do this crazy ritual with my wonderful daughter every year and never miss. Tradition is the only answer I can offer and it's the one day that I commit to every year to spend the day with my daughter.

So, I have some news for the ones who follow crazy and enjoy ending the day with a smile and not a tear and whilst it's not particularly exciting, it's at least going to caused misery to the grumpy and a smile to the happy ones among us all........and we all know who they are...!! In this time of cut back after cut back, we in the UK are all aware that one of the things that is vanishing from our high street is the local Bank and it's causing much concern among the people who like to see the local branch and staff and down want to speak through a computer or technology of any kind. The point of digital was supposed to be better for all and be accessible 24 x 7 but if this were true, why do so many not embrace it but simply fight it. Well today I found a Bank that was clearly open but not for accepting deposits, withdrawals or complaints and whilst that in itself is a problem, it also clearly states that there is "no fishing" either from that branch......!!   Please have a very Happy St Patrick's Day and drink responsibly and stay safe so that we can all meet up this time next week to say we made it.

27th March 2018

So we are the back end of March and no matter what, we are here and in a position stronger than some and better than others and as such there is no room for complaint in a world where looking back does not work and moaning simply wastes time and energy. Easter is knocking at the door for the most part of my country as many except for the spoilers who spend their time trying to ban or prevent it for some weird reason best known to them.
I was out and about in my fine City this week and whilst I was out, I had a small window of opportunity to take some pictures and share them with you. This piece of fine engineering is a well known landmark which is the bridge over a few major roads that runs down the side of Ponds Forge Swimming & Gymnastic center that is a huge asset to our city as it attracts visitors from all around the globe to enjoy the world class facilities to which it provides to all who visit. You will notice that traveling across the bridge is our very modern tram system that once again serves our city so well.
To the left, you will see the outside of our very special swimming pool and it's leisure facilities and as you may notice in the distance, there are a series of water slides inside one of the pools here to which actually goes outside and back in again at quite a speed and the kids and adults truly enjoy both slides provided here. I am very proud of my City and the way it has recovered from some very testing times over the years that started back in the 80s with over 3,000,000 unemployed to what is today a very successful City with a thriving population and very proud of it steel industry to which was the foundation that our City was built on, although some may dispute that and say that we were more famous for our cutlery and silver business which were world renowned for there quality and style. Sadly, I remember when most of this industry was moved out of the city for economic purpose and is probably made somewhere in the far east today
This week spelled the twice a year event of the changing of the clocks to which I would be grateful if someone could actually explain to me the purpose of this crazy ritual that catches so many out and causes so much mayhem for so many for so little reward to which for some weird reason nobody challenges why. However, for those who enjoy a cheeky smile at those who don't know, here is a bunch of volunteers who turn up yearly at the "Stone Henge" stones and by working in both harmony and unison, they manage to lift all of the stones forward one hour in which to comply with EU rules that all clocks must display local time in accordance with the European demand. Most if not all of the volunteers are druids and as it is EU rule, nobody is allowed to be paid for the nights work and should be proud that they were part of this trustworthy team to which they can share the stories with there children that they were part of the European workforce of volunteers who lifted the 200 tun stones forward 1 hour in accordance with the EU law which saved them from the lefties who may argue that we didn't apply a risk assessment or health and safety officer along with a IT engineer and productivity officer and site manager to oversea the work that early Man managed before he could even speak. One last word before I go, please enjoy Easter and the time we all have. You don't need to be religious of any kind but the period in time is called and known as Easter and as long as I have the strength to speak, I will defend the right to call it that.

3rd April 2018

Can anyone tell me where my home country of Great Britain has gone today. The country of pride in your Town and respect for your neighbor and compassion towards others. Where has it all gone to.
I still remember the days when Whitsuntide held its annual march through the streets to display and show off the congregation and the children used to show off their new cloths. The ladies and girls would wear their new bonnets and the local band would play ahead of the march.
I still remember when we took assembly at school where for a few short moments we sang hymns and said prayers whilst we stood quietly and respected our teachers who led the congregation. I still recall when our local Bobby (Police) carried a small truncheon and whistle and walked our streets, they always said good morning to the public who all knew him or her by name. Where is our green and pleasant land where we used to roam and breath fresh air and where is the humanity & spirit of our great nations gone that gave the title “Great” in Britain. Nobody agrees with the changes to our country, so why do we just accept them as they happen. For evil to develop and grow, all it takes is good to people to stand back and allow it. Where did my country go......!!

7th April 2018

So, here we all are yet again and my week has been full of it's normal up's and downs and if I (Peter Hulbert) was talking about my love life, that would be bragging but sadly it is not and it's more akin to my normal routine to which is probably more entertaining than my love life. So I started my week with 6 inches of snow on the ground and ended my week with the hottest day of the year so far and to say it is crazy weather is an understatement in more ways than one. My ability to sustain bullshit fired from a machine gun with high impact rounds is what keeps me going some-days as it come thicker and faster than ever. However, I never say die and I am no quitter and as such, quitting is for quitters and the difference between success and failure is the ability to find a way through no matter what.

So if life was so full of roses and perfume, why is there always a smell of BS when we get downwind of certain people. We all know people who are full of it and the stories they peddle is always far more interesting that the people telling the truth, sadly the reality of the BS is what affects us all in so many ways, normally in a negative way more than any positive outcome. However, for Peter Hulbert and his weird world, it is all power for the cause in the end and what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger is what I like to think. So my week started on such a positive note as it was a Bank Holiday in the UK and for the most part, much of the world too and as such it all started a little slowly with many people taking an extended break and trying to locate the rest was a real nightmare. I decided in the end that as so many people were not available or away on an early break, I might as well survive the week by doing something else and ending with a smile than a pile of frustration and because of that, I motivated myself to go out to the countryside and absorb some of natures finest fresh air, while it is still free.
So my all anticipated and eager start to April was dashed somewhat by others rather than myself but I am always focused enough to have a fall back plan and as the sun rose in the eat, so did Peter Hulbert with his camera as always. In the end, it turned out to be quite a positive experience as I rather enjoyed drinking coffee in local areas, surrounded by countryside and green fields to which I always stress that I am so blessed to live so close to.

April 18th 2018

The first real taste of summer arrived with the temperature souring into the 20% C and tomorrow is expected to be even better. I would like to stress here and now, this is not a complaint but an appeal for more after such a long winter and snow was on the ground just 2 weeks ago and as such the sight of the sun was like winning the lottery 2 weeks in a row. My local shopping center was turned into a day at the seaside today and the kids loved it. All I need is a beer and knotted hankie and I'm happy.

I took some time out today to visit my local shopping center at Fox Valley Shopping which was a pure delight to enjoy a coffee and sunshine with a few kids enjoying the fountains and the sound of music in the background. It's on days like these when I realise why Yorkshire is known all over the world as "God's Own Country" and why we who maintain it and live here are so proud of the whole place and it's magnificent history. We might be rough be we are also ready for anything the world can throw at us.
4th June 2018

So, here we are in June and I sense that you are saying "Why was there no May post" and I would say, Good Point.....!! I would waffle a little and excuse myself before I would think up some excuse to share with you.........The truth is, my daughter was moving home and it was all hands on deck and as my past life was as a carpenter, I got the job of making all the cupboards, wardrobes and bed site cabinets. I also installed some CCTV and hung the pictures, mirrors and hanging baskets outside. All in all, it was a nice change and a real pleasure to help my daughter get a good start in life and hopefully a platform in which to build upon.  May was a time for many a record to be broken in the UK and the most notable was the temperature which set a new record of the hottest May on record. No complaints here then and if I hear anyone moan about "Global Warming", I will kick them on the shin. We had a very long and hard winter and a few weeks of sun was well earned.

For those who know me as the local cynical jokester, I couldn't miss the opportunity to share a picture that I took whilst down in my Capitol City this week and who am I to suggest a reference to whom this sign might be directed at, except that would only ever say in humor that politicians are the main target of this sign and that the warning is to the public that the people who live on this street are the political crooks who rob from the poor and give to the rich. I suppose it is always a cheap joke to send one in the direction of our Politicians and that is probably a term in general across the world but if the truth be known, I wouldn't want that thankless task as you are always between the devil and the deep blue sea and we can't please everyone. Democracy should provide a comfort that we ate least had a say but as we had a say on the future of our country and it's association with Europe to which it is almost 2 years to the day that we voted and still no change, I'm beginning to have little faith in the process of democracy today. I remember when our nation used to look down and frown upon Russia for the dictatorship and no democracy but the tables have changed in recent times and the UK is the laughing stock of the world right now.

Whilst I am on the subject of Politics and writing about the Month of May, I would like to give a quick mention to the events that the BBC and mainstream media refuse to cover which was the events that took place in my home City of Leeds in relation to "Tommy Robinson" of which I will just offer my thoughts for Tommy and his family to whom must be truly suffering at this moment in time. I will not make a judgement as that would be wrong of me but what I will say is that I have a lot of sympathy for Tommy and his cause and his bravery and determination are to be admired in my opinion and to that end I will say no more on this issue but will refer you to Google and the press who I now believe are covering the story rather well and certainly much better than I could ever wish to.

Oh how times have change. I can still remember when the "Etch A Sketch" was the cutting edge of technology and the comments wrote on this one sum it all up perfectly for me. The age of plastic brought cheap educational tools to the world and as quick as they came, the just as swiftly went. In my lifetime, I can still remember the very distinct smell of "Bakelite"which was a very basic and cheap material that led toward the plastic revolution. It was nothing like the modern materials of today and was highly flammable, very unstable and all in all a cheap and nasty material to be involved with but it did kick of the start of plastic development as it's known today.

9th June 2018

So, we are pretty much entering the center of the 2018 year where the downhill slide back to shorter days and longer nights appear more frequently and for me, that spells cold nights and frosty days at some point..........Ok, I will shut up, we haven't reached summer yet so I will stop now for 5 months and then moan again. I was in a writing mood today and decided to write a few words to someone very special in my life from who I miss dearly in every way and I hope you read my message to them below.
I wonder how many relationships have held firm just through the invention of the phone and then on the other hand how many have been destroyed once again by the phone. Technology is a wonderful thing that helps to bring the world together in so many positive ways and yet it is so often abused by so many for such little reward, sad really when you think about it. I often wonder how our ancestors would have reacted if the technology we have today was in there hands at the times when they set off around the world in search of the new and promised land. Can you imagine if the internet was alive and kicking when the Mayflower set off for Plymouth Rock or even if Captain Cook wad sat nav when he sailed the southern seas. Can you imaging getting a text from far away saying you discovered America or a selfie saying that Kangaroos had been discovered, another weird but wonderful thought would be the reverse of that thought which would be where would we be today had that be the case.......Hmmm...!!!  Ah well, day dreaming is a wonderful thing but the reality is that here we are and it is what it is no matter what you think. For me, the reality is that my life is very dependent upon technology, despite all the problems associated with it. I just hope your world is less fraught than mine is and that your communication is better placed to work than mine is on a more daily basis as my connections in life are all so far away and I am so self reliant on many things working in order to make them work. "Don't ask the next question" as I will not answer it but suffice to say my world is complex and never an easy thing to manage but I wouldn't have it any other way.

10th June 2018

I'm thinking of introducing a change to the way we name our days and true to western democracy, I will suggest a vote and if I don't get what I want, will ignore the result. As such, I propose we change the name of Sunday to boring. "Not boring day", just boring. So from 2019, it will go as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Boring, Monday etc.... If you agree, stand with me. If you do not........tough..!! So, how was your day I ask myself, followed by....how do you expect to tell me as I stopped people writing on my blog. My day can be summed in a few words. Hot, Boring, F1 Canada, More Hot More Boring.......Day over.

Have you ever just stopped what you are doing be it work or pleasure and wondered what life is all about. Are we here for a reason, for a purpose and if so why ?.....What is the reason, what is the purpose or is it just blind faith that we are all here. In nature, nothing happens for no apparent reason, everything has a purpose and nothing was created by or for design. So what is our purpose and why are we all here. We don't contribute positive things to planet earth in a way that benefits others other than ourselves and we certainly show no respect for other animals or plant life that we share this planet equally with but we do take up most of the good things that are created on earth and share non of it in a way to benefit the community of other species no matter what that are. So why was Man so successful when all he did was rape the planet of good and leave a trail of bad behind for the next generation to deal with. Did you never stop and think, did you ever wonder why or like me, did you just walk blind along the road and without a care in the world. Why do some generations and cultures appear to have everything and other cultures and countries have very little if anything at all. Who created this mad world has a lot to answer for and whilst nothing is perfect, the planet fell a long way short of being right first time. The picture to the left is a wonderful image of blind faith and it emphasis's the harsh reality of nature and blind faith in so many ways.

So, we finally reached the start of "The World Cup" of football and there is no way it could go by without a mention. I am not going to mention who we show support to or who we miss or wanted to be there (Italy & Holland) as it is too greater loss that we wish to mention and as such I am totally within my rights to say I wish our boys all the very best of luck and hope that we ultimately win the trophy in the end.
I do find it rather distasteful that as a nation, neither Scotland, or Wales ever show support for the English team when in reality we as the English always support all four of our competing nations as if they were our own. I am beginning to realise that it is more of a fashion and not a true feeling to not like England but our history is built upon success and perhaps that is the envy to which the other 3 are lacking. The rest of the world should remember that without England, there would be no football tournament as it was a 100% English invention. England have at least won the trophy once and have on this occasion managed to make it to the finals unlike Scotland, Northern Ireland & Scotland who show there dislike by refusing any support for the one team with the ability to represent the United Kingdom in a major event. I for one am proud of my great country and wish the boys every success in there attempt to bring home the trophy.
